Enrollment Process

Choice Enrollment in Jefferson County

Jefferson County Schools are currently in Round 2 of the Choice Enrollment process. Round 2 applications will be processed as they are submitted and families will be notified of offers or waitlist positions depending on the space available and grade level. 

All offers expire after 3 days.

To begin the enrollment process, go to Enroll Jeffco.

If you are placed on a waitlist, you will remain on the waitlist and be sent an offer if space becomes available. If you accept a waitlist offer, any previously accepted offer is automatically void to allow other students the spot if needed.

Enrollment at Free Horizon, Step by Step

Find a tour date that works for you through the link above. Our tours are offered both virtually and in-person. We will continue to add tour fates as the year progresses. If you choose to visit us in-person, please be sure to bring a face mask and your ID.

If you decide FHM would be a good educational fit for your child and family, we encourage you to apply through Enroll Jeffco

2. Apply for Choice Enrollment

You may apply for Round 1 Choice Enrollment between December 13th, 2021 and January 14th, 2022.
You may apply for Round 2 Choice Enrollment between January 20th, 2022 and the end of August.

*Returning Families 

Log into Enroll Jeffco during Round 1 Choice Enrollment to confirm your intent to return to FHM for the 2022-23 school year. Your placement is guaranteed as long as you confirm by January 14th.

 *New Families

1. Navigate to Enroll Jeffco to submit an application. Follow the prompts and include FHM as one of your school choices.
2. Refer to your email and create an Infinite Campus parent and student profile following the instructions in your inbox.

During the Round 1 process, enrollment in Jeffco schools is NOT determined on a first-come, first-served basis.  As long as your student’s application is submitted by midnight on January 14 2022, he/she/they will be considered equitably with all other Round 1 applicants. Round 2 applications are processed as they are received.

3. Notification of Acceptance

Offers for placement will begin going out in late January. You will be notified of an offer of enrollment through Enroll Jeffco.  Offers and notifications will be sent to your email. Families have 3 days to accept or decline the enrollment offer.  If we do not hear back within the specified period, we will move on to the next child on our wait list.

NOTE: Because we follow the Jeffco Public Schools Choice Enrollment procedures, we are unable to accommodate requests to allow enrollment decision extensions until after a parent attends a tour. We strongly encourage families to attend a tour prior to submitting a request through Enroll Jeffco, so that you know whether or not you will want the space when it is offered.

4. Complete Enrollment Paperwork

All enrollment and registration paperwork must be submitted in order to finalize placement.  After this period, we offer available space to the next family on our lottery or wait list.

You will need a copy of: 

- Student Birth Certificate
- Parent/Guardian I.D. (Driver's license, passport or Colorado I.D.)
- Proof of residency if you live in Jeffco (utility bill, etc)  
- A signed tuition agreement and first month's payment deposit (Preschool & Pre-K)

**These documents will be submitted online through the Online Registration. Upon acceptance of an offer, you will receive and email with specific instructions. 

Further registration paperwork will be emailed to families in July or early August.

Enrollment paperwork for the 2022-23 school year will be posted in the Spring under Enrollment: New Families.
