Attendance Policies

Hello FHM families! We are so grateful for our community during these uncertain times. We understand that the remote learning experience is a new one, so please know that all FHM staff members are here to help in any way we can. Below you will find a comprehensive list of our attendance expectations for remote learning. Please read through this whole document! We have tried to address the most important information for our families- consider this an attendance FAQ “cheat sheet”. If you have any additional questions, please reach out via email ([email protected] and [email protected]) or phone (303) 982-0280. Our goal is to practice flexibility while maintaining student engagement and education.

Information For All Students:

  • All of our students, including Preschool and Pre-K, are expected to be in attendance for remote learning Tuesdays through Fridays. Mondays are teacher planning days and catch-up days for students. No attendance will be taken on Mondays.

  • The following will be considered proof of attendance:
    - An assignment turned in.
    - A check-in via Google Chat/ Google Classroom or other approved platforms.
    - Any work that leaves a digital footprint that can be seen by your teacher (Lexia, Seesaw, Khan Academy, Typing Quest, etc).
    - A photo sent to your teacher of any work or engagement with learning materials.

  • Proof of attendance must be turned in to your teacher by the end of the day.

  • Primary and elementary students only need to check-in or send proof of work/ engagement once a day to be considered present.

  • Middle School students are expected to check-in with or send work to each and every of their scheduled periods with their respective teachers.

  • If your family has any extenuating circumstances that prevent your student from checking in, please be in direct contact with your teacher(s) to work out a new system that better suits your unique circumstance. Collaborate with Ms. Danae and Ms. Jane to ensure that your student’s attendance is considered. We are here to help!

  • If your student is marked absent, you will be contacted by Ms. Danae or Ms. Jane for a follow up. We will ask for either retroactive proof of attendance or a reason for the absence. If your student was marked absent on a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday, you will receive a call the following day. If your student was marked absent on a Friday, you will receive an email the following Monday. Please respond whenever possible.

  • If your child will be absent from remote learning, please call and leave a message on the attendance line. We are monitoring all voicemails.

  • Per the district guidelines, you will be given a 48 hour timeframe to send work to your teacher, Ms. Danae, and Ms. Jane to have absences changed or excused retroactively.

    Thank you!
    -Ms. Danae and Ms. Jane
