April 7 - 10 - Students Report to Online Remote Learning

Monday, April 13 - Teacher Planning Day - students do not report online

April 14 - 17 - Students Report to Online Remote Learning

Important Tips to be more successful and productive during this online learning time:

Create a daily schedule for your kids; they will be more successful with structure. Make sure to include:
- Wake-up and breakfast times
- Times to engage in classes
- Outside and/or physical movement time at least 2-3 times during the “school” day. 30 minutes for each time are recommended. Walking, biking, running, playing an outside game (that allows for social distancing), etc. Check out these ideas from Ms. Tyler in Fresh Start
- Lunch time.
- Free time (schedule this; otherwise, all time could be free time)
- Dinner

Optional things to think about including in the schedule:
- A time for chores
- Creative Time - drawing, playing music, building things, etc. Ideally this would not include a device (computer or tablet) since students will be online a lot during this time period. We want kids to engage their brains in different ways.

Social Distancing: This is NOT a Snow Day or a vacation time - It is NOT recommended that kids do “get togethers” like they do during a snow day. Kids should not have sleepovers or visit with their peers during this time.

All students in kindergarten and above are required to attend each day. Preschoolers are strongly encouraged to attend by engaging in the work activities provided by their teachers. Students must log in and/or submit work, photos, etc. as assigned by their teachers each Remote Learning day in order to be counted as "present" for that day. Please make sure you submit work evidence each day so that your child's teacher can update their attendance. Those who do not follow their teacher's directions for remote check-ins, work submission, and/or evidence of work will be counted absent with follow up coming from the office the following day. If you have questions, please refer to communications from your child's teacher and the Remote Learning pages of the FHM website for clarifications. If your child is ill and won't attend classes for a day, please call our attendance line at 303-982-0280 and leave a detailed message about the absence.

Families Who Need Child Care

As COVID-19 requires additional demands of our essential workforce to support our health care system, our human services providers, public safety professionals, and other members of our emergency workforce, child care will be a vital piece of Colorado’s response.

Jeffco Schools Foundation Fund to Support Families

A message from Jeffco Schools Foundation:
We will overcome the impact that COVID-19 is having on our community. Together, we will persevere through this crisis. At this time, our District, our schools, our educators, and our students need additional support to rise to the challenge of Distance Learning, and to ensure even our most vulnerable populations are able to continue to access learning.

We are asking for financial support to secure resources to ensure every student has the tools they need to access learning from their home. This means giving the District the ability to support severe needs and shortages in essentials across our community. Please consider supporting us to ensure we meet the needs of all our learners.
