Volunteering at Free Horizon Montessori
A parent and caregiver's presence and participation in learning are vital to your child's success in school. Studies consistently demonstrate that parent and caregiver involvement in their child's education equals academic success. Free Horizon Montessori (FHM) requests 30 hours of volunteer work from each family every year and offers a myriad of opportunities to fulfill this commitment.
In order to volunteer at FHM we ask you to complete the following:
1. Complete Raptor Application for Background Check
2. Watch recorded Volunteer Orientation Orientation
3. View Volunteer Orientation Presentation
All volunteers are required to watch / attend volunteer orientation every year. As volunteers are often working directly with students, they are required to go through a more rigorous background check. The application is a quick process and results typically are returned within 48 hours.
- All visitors/volunteers will be required to bring a government-issued photo ID. This ID will be scanned in the raptor terminal, and a visitor badge will be generated. Badges must be worn throughout the building in a prominent location.
