Hello FHM Families -

OPEN Field Day

I am excited to announce that our entire school community (Primary through 8th grade) will be participating in the OPEN National Field Day event on Friday, May 8th!

Field Day is an important tradition at our school for Primary and Elementary. It is a significant day for our students and our staff, and we feel that in these incredibly challenging times this national event is a unique way that we can stay connected as a community and support one another in a fun and meaningful way.

How to Participate



We, as the Specials department, have created Google Classrooms for each area (Art, Library, Music, PE, and Tech.) for students to access their Specials assignments. An email with their class codes was sent Monday, March 30, 2020 around 8pm. Students were also invited through the classroom. If you have questions or are unable to join the classroom, please reach out to the specials teachers. Their emails are listed at the bottom of this page. 

The specials team understands that adjusting to the remote learning environment is different from family to family. We certainly understand that getting the classroom work done is a priority. Please do not take on the specials' assignments as a source of stress. We are looking at students' engagement in specials as flexible as possible.

Grading for specials, students receive grades in Music, Art, PE and Tech. Grading is an ongoing discussion as to what it will look like for remote learning but note that it will take into account the entire year's progress. Again, we do not want families to worry about getting everything done in specials. We recognize that not only are families adapting differently but also at differing paces.
