Below is our schedule for remote learning for the foreseeable future. All assignments will be given via google classroom. To access google classroom: log into your google account -> in the top right corner click on the 3x3 “waffle” (the 3x3 square) -> click on “Classroom” the icon is -> accept the invites into any new classes that have been assigned (i.e. Math Classrooms, Solo, Learning Strats, FACS, etc.). If you need help navigating Google classroom: turning in assignments, attaching work, etc please refer to this presentation here.

Part of remote learning is that we have to have proof class is still commencing as normal. In order to have proof of this, we will be taking daily attendance and expecting students to complete and turn in daily work samples. While classes will be taking place digitally, we are still functioning as a school and such, all assignments are relevant, meet state and national standards, and will be graded and entered into the grade book. We will submit attendance to the school at 4pm each day. We know and understand that families need flexibility during this difficult time so for students that did not provide proof of attendance (checking into the correct chat room at the appropriate times/turning in daily work by 4pm) by our 4pm deadline we will look for daily work the next day on a case by case basis in order to update the previous day’s attendance so that you are not penalized for meeting your scheduling needs.

Remember that we, the teachers, are available in the google chats to assist students in real time and we are also available and happy to set up live video assistance/lessons as students need it during our various class times.

Schedule for Remote Learning Tuesdays - Fridays

No formal school on Mondays - this is for teacher planning and time for students to catch up on assignments.

9-10 Electives Students: Refer to this document by the electives teachers.

10-10:15 Homeroom Morning Meeting Students: Log into your homeroom’s Google Chat Room. Expectations: Once you have sent a response, you must wait until 5 other people have sent a response before you can type in the chat again. (This is to assist with organization of the chat so we don’t get overwhelmed and you don’t get lost) This expectation is the same for when we do video chats as well.

10:15-11 Core 1 Check in and chat Students: Log into your first core class’s Google Classroom and Google Chat Room Teachers: Available during this time as office hours to answer questions, provide assistance, lessons, and/or face-to-face time for those that need it.

Additionally, She and Ms. Megan the school psychologist have a Social Emotional Google classroom: class code zhwf4t3 that has resources to assist with anxiety, coping skills, mindfulness, and more.

Wednesdays Adjustment
Since students do not have school on Monday, Wednesday is no longer early release at 2pm. Time-wise, Tuesday-Friday are all the same. However, On Wednesdays instead of FACS/H&W/LS and Solo/Lit Workshop we will be having our Wednesday Humanities Rotation classes from 1:30 - 2:15 and community meeting from 2:15 - 3 via google hangout chat. Students should watch for more information about the community meeting in their homeroom chats.
